Front Royal Lodge No. 102 was one among many lodges invited to Salem Lodge No. 81 at Middleburg, June 23rd, 1821 anniversary of St. John. There was an oration, procession, refreshments, and a choir singing three melodies:
- Unto thee, great God, belongs. (to the tune of Emerald Gates)
- Grant us, kind heaven, what we request (to the tune of Old Hundred)
- Genius of Masonry descend. (to the tune of Monroe)
Anniversary of St. John.
THE approaching anniversary of St. John the Baptist, will be celebrated by the Salem Lodge No. 81, at Middleburg, on Saturday, the 23d June next. – Procession will be formed at 11 o’clock, A. M. and proceed from the Lodge room to the meeting house; where, after divine service,
A Masonic Oration
Will be delivered, after which the procession will return to the Lodge room.
Brother John B. Hammatt, the D. D. G. M. for the 13th masonic district will attend, being on his visit to the Lodges under his care.
Refreshments will be prepared by Mr. John Boyd.
The members of Olive Branch Lodge, Leesburg; United Brethren Lodge, Waterford; Haymarket Lodge, Centreville; Front Royal Lodge, and transient brethren generally, are respectfully invited to attend, prepared with their jewels and clothing.
