Masonic Mutual Benefit Association

On February 11, 1873, the Spirit of Jefferson reported a meeting for the Masonic Mutual Benefit Association. Unity Lodge No. 146 first past master, Thomas N. Ashby, was elected as President. Furthermore, Jno. T. Lovell from Front Royal as well became a member on the General Board of Directors.

Masonic Mutual Benefit Association. - At the resent meeting of the Masonic Mutual Benefit Association, at Shepherdstown, Thomas N. Ashby of Unity Lodge, No. 146, Virginia, was elected President, and Geo. M. Belzhoover of Mt. Nebo Lodge, No. 91, elected Vice President, for the ensuing year.

A. M. Evans moved that the President appoint a Committee of five to report 21 suitable members to constitute a General and Local Board of Directors.

The Committee reported the following members for the General Board: - Rev. J. B. Fitzpatrick, Harrisonburg; E Morrison, Edinburg; Jno. T. Lovell, Front Royal; Dr. A. A. Biggs and C. W. Adams, Sharpsburg, Md.; Samuel J. C. Moore. Berryville; L. T. Moore, Winchester; Joseph E. Bell, Brucetown; M. C. Nadenhousch. Hedgesville; Rev. Jno. A. Scott. Duffields; Robert White. Romney; J. P. A. Entler, Piedmont; H. N. Gallaher, Charlestown; A. S. Chambers, Martinsburg. For the Local Board: - W. F. Alexander, Duffields; A. M. Evans, Middleway; Jno. C. Unseld, Harper's Ferry; D. H. Cockrill, Charlestown; Jno. F. Welshans. J. S. Fleming and H. C. Entler. Shepherdstown. A ballot was taken and the report adopted.

The association has lost four members and paid in benefits $674. since its organization.

The Association adjourned to meet in Harrisonburg, Va., on the 2nd Thursday of January, 1874.
