Church Corner Stone Laid

On August 6, 1905, The Sunday Star reported that Unity Lodge No. 146 and the Grand Master of Virginia laid the corner stone of the Methodist Episcopal Church South on August 2nd.

Church Corner Stone Laid

The cornerstone of the new Methodist Episcopal Church South at Front Royal, Va., was laid on Wednesday afternoon by Unity Lodge, No. 146, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, of that place, with Grand Master Thomas N. Davis of Lynchburg presiding. Rev. Dr. W. W. Tudor of Richmond was the orator, and among the former pastors present was Rev. William F. Locke, pastor of Mount Vernon Church of Washington. The church will cost $18,000.
