On march 25, 1925, the Covington Virginian published an article announcing that the Purdum property on Main Street was purchased to erect a new Masonic Temple made of brick and three stories high. The property was purchased by Unity Lodge for $10,500.

Unity Lodge, A. F. & A. M. Buys Site for New Building in Valley Town

FRONT ROYAL, Va., March 25, - Unity Lodge, A. F. & A. M., has purchased the Purdum property, on Main Street, for $10,500, and will shortly begin the erection of a new Masonic Temple, which will be constructed of brick and is to be three stories high.

A. N. Carroll, worshipful master, has appointed a committee to have charge of the building.
