On August 28, 1927, The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported that the Front Royal Unity Lodge No. 146 was to officiate the laying of the corner stone ceremony at Randolph-Macon Academy on September 1st with the expectation that there would be a large crowd, as well as many lodges attending. The Academy was close to completion and was made to be fireproof.
