A Meeting of 60 Masons And Music

On February 4, 1934, the Richmond Times-Dispatch published an article regarding 60 masons gathering the previous day in an open meeting sponsored by Unity Lodge No. 146. Among those present were nineteen past masters, and a past high grand priest of the Royal Arch Chapter of Virginia. There was singing, music, and a vocal quartet.

Church Presiding Elder Is Among Speakers

FRONT ROYAL, Feb. 3 - A fellowship meeting sponsored by Unity Lodge, No. 146, A. F. & A. M., here last night was attended by sixty members of the Masonic order.

This was an open meeting presided over by S. M. Boyd Jr., worshipful master. P. M. Shirey, past high grand priest of the Royal Arch Chapter of Virginia, was toastmaster.

Dr. W. F. Locke, presiding elder of Winchester district of the M. E. Church, South, spoke on behalf of the nineteen past masters of the lodge who were present. The Rev. R. B. Clagett, pastor of the local Methodist Church, spoke on the history of Masonry.

Music was furnished by a vocal quartet and by the Rev. T. Eugene West, who sang a number of solos.
