Carson Dinner Delegates Map Plans Representatives of organizations in Front Royal and Warren county which will sponsor a testimonial dinner in honor of William E. Carson, who is about to retire as chairman of the State Commission on Conservation and Development, met at three o’clock yesterday afternoon in the court room of the Warren county court house in Front Royal as members of an executive committee for the dinner and to organize for the event.

Wilbur F. Trout called the meeting to order and Gen. Beverley F. Browne was nominated and elected, unanimously, as chairman of the movement. Those present agreed to meet on next Tuesday afternoon December 4, at three o’clock, when Gen. Browne, who was absent yesterday, will be present. At that time full arrangements for the dinner will be considered.

Discussion followed as to the place for holding the dinner and methods of getting reports, through the several organizations, of lists of those persons who will attend ihe dinner.

Organizations were represented at the meeting yesterday as follows: Front Royal Bar Association, Chas. B. Samuels; Front Royal Chamber of Commerce, Harold W. Smith; Town Council of Front Royal, Mayor B. d. Hillidge; Front Royal Rotary Club, Hugh H. Bowman; Front Royal Lions’ Club, Wilbur F. Trout; Front Royal Retail Merchants Association, George C. Ramsey; Unity Lodge of Masons, Stephen M. Boyd, Jr.; Royal Arch Chapter of Masons, P. M. Shirey; Modern Woodmen of America, Wm. C Deming: Front Royal Lodge of Rebekahs, Mrs. W. R. Thompson; Front Royal Post, American Legion, Amos B. Scott; S. R. Millar Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, E. Wiley Grant; Loving Service Circle of King’s Daughters, Mrs. E. H. Stokes; Whatsoever Circle of King’s Daughters, Mrs. Wm. C. Deming; Willing Workers Circle of King’s Daughters, Miss Elizabeth Thompson; Front Royal Parent-Teacher Association, Mrs. Mary Burruss; and Garden Club of Warren County, Mrs. B. Ferguson Cary. Other sponsoring organizations whose representatives were not present yesterday are: Warren County Board of Supervisors, G. W. Duncan; I. O. O. F., L. C. Willey Order of the Eastern Star, Mrs. Stewart C. Payne; United Confederate Veterans, Thornton V. Leach; Sons of Confederate Veterans, E. H. Stokes, and United Daughters of the Confederacy.
