The newly-installed Two River Chapter of the Order of De Molay held its first regular meeting on Thursday night in Masonic Hall, in Front Royal and elected chapter officers, who were installed, also.
The officers are: “Pike” Grannis, master councilor; Robert (“Bobby”) Butler, senior councilor ; Lionel Lieberman, Junior councilor; Ralph Powell, treasurer; Harry Geaslen, chaplain; Bradley Henry, senior deacon; Richard Bell, junior deacon; Roger Griffith and Thomas Harrison Jr., stewards; John Rogers, marshal; Junior Brown, Raymond Owens, Albert Harlow, Dee Griffith, Frank Richardson Jr.; Charles Macatee and Raymond Almarode, preceptors; Elwood Showers, sentinel; William White, orator; Thomas McCauley, standard bearer, and Jackie Manuel, almoner.
The remainder of the meeting was spent in a study of the secret work of the order and in a discussion of proposed activities.
The international, secret fraternity of the Order of DeMolay was founded in Kansas City, Missouri, more than two decades ago, and is open to any young man between the ages of 15 and 21, “who is interested in a wholesome enjoyment of life and a full understanding of the basic principles of manhood,” Capt. The chapter will hold regular meetings on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month and members of the Masonic order and former members of the Order of DeMolay will be welcome at the meetings.
