On March 23, 1968, The Evening Sun reported a Past Masters night conferring the sublime degree of a Master Mason at Monocacy Lodge #203 in Union Bridge, Maryland. Members from five additional lodges came. Four from Maryland: (Door to Virtue Lodge No. 163, Eureka Lodge No. 105, Plymouth Lodge No. 143, and Tyrian Lodge No. 205), along with a fraternal visiting group of men from Unity Lodge No. 146 in Virginia.

Monocacy Lodge Past Masters' Program Is Held

TANEYTOWN - Monocacy Lodge A.F. & A.M. 203 recently held a Past Masters night with most offices of the lodge filled with Past Masters of Monocacy Lodge.

Worshipful Master Edard Sauble relinquished his office along with most of the other officers so that the Past Masters could confer the third degree.

Among the officers participating were as Worshipful Master Roy Knouse and Martin R. Smith, both are past masters of the Taneytown Lodge of Masons.

There was a good turnout of local members plug visitations from several other Maryland lodges, Plymouth in Union Bridge, Door TO Virtue in Westminister, Eureka in Sharpsburg, and Tyrian in Emmitsburg. Also present was a visitation group from Unity Lodge in Front Royal, Va.

The past masters conferred the third degree on Robert A. Morgan.

Refreshments were served after the meeting. Most of the visitors and many of local lodge went to the home of Morgan on Bull Frog Road for a get-to-gether.
