January 2006 Trestle Board

Dear Members of Unity Lodge:

I would like to welcome everyone to our new Masonic year.  I am looking forward in continuing with the fine traditions of Unity Lodge through fellowship and hard work.  A big thanks to Past Masters and Brothers of the lodge for their support and help in becoming the Worshipful Master of Unity Lodge.  Last year we raised 17 new Master Masons and I am looking forward in continuing that success this year.

The Officers are planning several new events for our families and fellow Masonic brothers.  Our new website will host current information about our events to include our blood drive, stated meetings, practices, picnics, car wash, fund raisers, and many other fun actives at Unity.  It is my hope and pleasure that we can all come together for our many good causes like the  program to support the Young Marines and Boy Scouts.  We will be honoring several Boy Scouts at our June 9th stated meeting who have earned the Eagle Scout award.  Getting involved with the community is a great event for us and what better way to support our community then helping recognizing our youth programs.

Remember our Stated communication will be on Friday January 13th.  Some of the other events in January will be a fraternal visit to Hiram #21 Masonic Lodge in Winchester, VA on January 10th.  On the January 26, our own Kevin Davison will be hold a District School at Unity Lodge and on January 31 will be the Masters and Wardens Dinner at Cochran Lodge.  All Officer are expected to attend these events and we would like to see the brethren join us in our many travels through out the 3rd Masonic District.  Also, practice will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 PM please come out and learn a part in our ritual.

Last but not least please remember to live you life as Mast Masons do – respect others more especially another brother.   We all took an obligation to be good men – so what do good men do – we take good men and make them better.

God Bless all and see you at our next meeting!

Respectfully submitted,

Eric McBride
