Dear Members of Unity Lodge:
March and April 2006
Unity 146 Masonic Lodge is off to a very fast start this year. We are making excellent progress towards the Hillman and Levy Awards. Our Blood drive last month produced 49 pints of Blood for the American Redcross we helped us to meet our goal for the years. Thanks to all the Brothers that helped and gave! We will be having one more blood drive this year – TBA.
The Brothers of Unity Lodge have been hosting the Shenandoah Valley Scottish Rite Club – headed up by Brothers Adams and the Officers in cooking for our friends from the Valley – so far we have raised nearly $500 dollars for the Scholarship fund for a student at Warren County School – our goal this years is raise $1,500 dollars – all donations are welcome and encouraged.
Unity was well represented at the Area Leadership Conference in Warrenton, VA. All station officers and most of the line officers where present – excellent work everyone. This was a big help towards get the Hillman Award and everyone got to see our Grand Line Officers.
The Community Breakfast is going well – help is always needed in the kitchen. Big thanks to Alva, Lucile, RW Seaford, Wor Cairns, Brothers Patton, Adams, and Bowser for their help and support.
We are raising two new candidates on April 12th so please come out and support your lodge and new Brothers to be.
Also, in April the Potentates from Acca and Kena will be presenting Shrine Night at Unity a program on the Shriners Hospitals for Children at our Stated communication. This is a wonderful cause for all Masters Mason to get involved in and help the kids in our area. Shriners from the Blue Ridge and Winchester Shrine Clubs will be attending this function. So if you want to know more about what Shriners do then come out and see for your self.
Last but not least is the Ladies Luncheon at the Apple House in Linden, Virginia. This year the theme will be The Ladies in Masonry featuring Mrs. Donna McIlwee Past Grand Worthy Matron of Virginia – Eastern Star. Sister McIlwee we be giving a short talk on the Eastern Star and opportunities for Master Masons wives, mothers, sisters, or daughters to find out information on this most wonderful organization. We will also be presenting several awards to organizations in the Front Royal community. Show your support for your lodge and coming out to this event on April 29th at 12:30 PM. The cost is $10 for the meal.
Please check the Calendar for events in April and May. We have a lot going on at Unity this year and would love to see more people attending lodge.
What do good Master Masons do? We help each other to be better men.
Be safe and God Bless!
