Brethren of Unity Lodge No.146 A.F.&A.M.,
I trust this message finds each of my brothers and your family well. I am dedicating the month of May to our youth. Our 168th Grand Master of Masons in Virginia, Louis Kerford Campbell, theme for this year is “Masonry’s Youth – Masonry’s Future.” In our Masonic community this focus would be on, The International Order of Rainbow for Girls, The Order of DeMolay, and The International Order of Job’s Daughters. In the Front Royal/Warren County area we do not have any of these organizations. As such, we have decided to support and recognize the youth organizations that promote character development, community service and leadership.
This year Unity Lodge sponsored a Front Royal Jr. League Baseball Team. This effort will support our youth during the Spring Baseball Season. There are 11 scheduled baseball games and are played at Chance 53 Field at the Bing Crosby Stadium. Our sponsorship paid for team jerseys, with Unity Masonic Lodge No. 146 printed on the front, and equipment. I encourage you to go out and support our team, meet the coaches and support our youth. The game dates and times are listed in the May Trestleboard.
May is also dedicated to our local Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scouts and Girl Scouts of America Gold Scout Award recipients. At our May 1st stated communications we have personally invited our Scouts, their families, and Troop Leaders to join us for dinner. We will recognize our Scouts and present each one with a Certificate of Recognition. The Certificates are signed by the Grand Master, carry the Seal of the Grand Lodge and are attested by the Grand Secretary. I encourage you to make every effort to attend our May stated and participate in our Scout Night. If you were a Scout, please were your uniform to the meeting.
As our continued contribution and support to our community, we have scheduled Saturday, May 11th as our Adopt-A-Highway Clean-up. Our highway is Route 522 South, Remount Road, from the town limits for about 2 miles. We will meet at the Lodge at 0900 for coffee, donuts and fellowship. The highway clean-up should last a couple of hours.
As always Brethren, let us Meet on the Level, Act by the Plum and Part upon the Square. This is our Lodge… Your Lodge. Be the change you wish to see in the world… it all begins where you were first made a Mason. Until we meet again my friend, may the God of Peace and Love delight to dwell with and bless you.
S & F,
Dennis Mark Haas
Worshipful Master
