Message from the Order of the Eastern Star

Sisters and Brothers,

Our first meeting in April was well attended with the newly installed officers at their stations and sideliners to enjoy our beautiful work. We draped the altar and charter for our beloved member, Brother Elmer Foster.

It is with sad news that on Thursday, April 18th, 2013, Sister Lucille Ann Balderson Sealock passed to her heavenly mansion above. She was an active 54 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Sister Lucille served in many of the offices in Front Royal Chapter No. 6. She was the Assistant Lecturer for District No.19 for 12 ½ years. She was also Grand Martha for the Grand Chapter of Virginia in 1973-1974. She was active in her last office with Front Royal Chapter No. 6 as Chaplain, an office she knew well. She will be missed by everyone who was privileged to know her. She sincerely loved the Eastern Star and was willing to assist all the Eastern Star chapters with her knowledge, abilities and friendly smile. Front Royal Chapter No. 6 was sadly honored to conduct the Eastern Star funeral ceremony on Sunday, April 21, 2013 for Sister Lucille at Maddox funeral home in Front Royal, Virginia.

Our next stated meeting will be held on Friday, May 3rd at 7:30pm. Refreshments will be provided by Sister Sandy and Brother Joel Ratliff.

Virginia’s Winter Wonderland Grand Chapter Session in Roanoke will be held Sunday, May 20th-23, Roanoke Civic Center, 710 Williamson Rd., NE, Roanoke, Va. 24016.

We are planning several fund raisers. Our annual Pork BBQ dinner will be held Sunday, August 11th. (Prep day, is Saturday, August 10th). Tickets will be mailed in May to members of Front Royal Chapter to help make this event a success. Everyone is invited to participate and enjoy the excellent BBQ! Contact the Worthy Matron if you would like a meal.

The Official Visit will be Saturday, September 28th, 2013 at 2:00p.m.
