Brethren of Unity Lodge No.146 A.F.&A.M.,
I trust this message finds each of you and your family well. It is with mixed emotions I contemplate writing this final message to you. It seems like yesterday I was thinking about writing my first message to you. In that January message I prayed for patience, strength, knowledge and steadfastness to rule and govern our lodge as we charted a new direction and face new challenges. I prayed for healing of our brothers, both physically and emotionally. I prayed that we would feel the conviction of our obligation to remind our brother of his error and aid a reformation. Brethren, I am pleased to inform you we have had a remarkable year. We have enjoyed fellowship, laughter, and sadly we were reminded of our immortality. How quickly the Scythe of time cuts that brittle thread of life, and launches us into eternity.
This year your lodge qualified for and received The Seymour Jonas Levy Award, an award based on the amount of blood products that are donated and credited to a Lodge throughout the year. We qualified and received The James Noah Hillman Award, an award based on Lodge Masonic ritual and Masonic education achievements throughout the year. We presented Community Builders Awards, Certificates of Recognition to our Eagle Scouts (boys) and Gold Scouts (girls). We awarded numerous certificates for Proficiency in the Master Masons Catechism as well as several Certificates of Appreciation. I was in attendance at the Grand Annual Communication a few weeks ago and was honored and humbled by being awarded the Grand Masters Award of Excellence as Outstanding Worshipful Master of the year.
At our December stated, we will be conducting the Election of 2014 Lodge Officers. Please come out and support your lodge as we work to maintain our momentum. A public installation of your 2014 Lodge Officers has been scheduled for Saturday, December 7th at 1000 AM, lunch to follow in the social hall. A rehearsal has been scheduled for Thursday, December 5th at 7:00 PM.
As a reminder, we have the Toys for Tots box in the lobby, please check your cable tow and give as liberally as you can without material injury to yourself or family. There are a lot of distressed families and children in our community that could use our help, aid, and assistance. Our December Saturday breakfast will be served at 8:00 AM on the 28th.
In closing, I thank you for allowing me to be of service to you and your families this year. I thank you for your support, encouragement, and most of all your friendship. I wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
As always Brethren, let us Meet on the Level, Act by the Plum and Part upon the Square. This is our Lodge….Your Lodge. Be the change you wish to see in the world….it all begins where you were first made a Mason. Until we meet again brethren, may the God of Peace and Love delight to dwell with and bless you.
S & F,
Dennis Mark Haas
Worshipful Master
