Hello, our July Stated started off with a bang! Instead of meeting at our usual time on the 4th of July we decided to have a casual picnic and Hawaiian shirt contest. I would first like to thank all the brothers who donated the food (Will Bryan, Kevin Walek, Wes Hammock, Charles Taggart, Bob Nickols) everything was delicious! Also, thanks to ALL those who brought additional items!
I would also like to congratulate our winners for the ugliest Hawaiian shirt contest; FIRST PLACE went to Brother Joel Ratliff (in picture on the left), SECOND PLACE went to Brother Kevin Davidson, and THIRD PLACE went to Brother Kevin Walek.
In addition, I would like to thank Brother Charlie Davis, Brother Rich Radi, Brother Tim Dahlman and Irene Merten for putting on the folding of the United States Flag program, it was well received!
Secondly, I would like to remind everyone, if you have an event that you would like to hold at Unity Lodge it is imperative that you let me know as soon as possible. With the unfortunate event that took place at Spurmont Lodge and all their activities taking place at Unity; the calendar for lodge use is rather full for the next couple months. Also, if you are using the lodge please ensure that the lights and air conditioning are turned off, the trash is emptied, and that the doors are locked when you leave.
Thirdly, I would like to thank all the Brothers who help out with the last Saturday breakfast. It is brothers like you that sacrifice sleeping in on a Saturday morning and get up early to donate your time and make the breakfast’s successful! Though we have a lot that help out here and there I wanted to recognize the regulars Kevin Walek, Will Bryan, Jr. Griffith, Charles Taggart, and Wes Hammock for always being there!
