I trust that this April communication finds each of you and your family well.
For many of us, we are currently navigating in unchartered waters. For many of our experienced Sir Knights, you may have experienced situations like this in the past.
Our Right Eminent Grand Commander, Sir Knight Benjamin Franklin Hill, issued General Order No. 3 authorizing “electronic stated Conclaves.” Our Recorder, SK JD Davis and I are working on a platform to accommodate this capability. More information will be forthcoming so stay tuned.
Many of you have asked questions regarding the upcoming 198th Annual Conclave in Charlottesville on May 1st and 2nd. As of this message I have not received any updated information from the Grand Recorder nor did I see any update on the Grand Commandery website:
Please keep a close check on your email and/or if you recieve a “Phonevite” message from our Recorder, this will be the method for us to communicate information with you. As it stands, Luray Commandery No. 19 will hold an “electronic stated Conclave” on Tuesday, April 7th at 7:30 pm, we will communicate to you the information how to connect for this.
The Grand Master of Knights Templar USA cancelled the Annual Easter Sunrise Service on April 12th. This prompted Luray Commandery to cancel our Easter Sunrise Service. This is no reason for us not to spend time with our Lord and Savior. I encourage each of you to reflect on what Easter Sunday stands for. As a Knight Templar, this is one of our most important days of the year. As we struggle to understand the current pandemic we are in and how to survive it, just imagine the pain and torture Jesus endured many years ago, He was crucified, He died, only to arise from the grave. He did this to provide a way of salvation for each of us. We should be ever reminded of his selfish act. Be thankful, be humble, be gracious my brother.
