Ho Companions,
As we enter into April, we have been quite limited in our usual vocations as well as our friendly and social intercourse.
I am sure that many of our elders in masonry has experienced situations like we are currently in throughout their lifetime. For many of us, this will be a first. The Grand Lodge as well as all other appendant bodies in Virginia have issued cancellation notices at least through the end of April. They will re-evaluate the conditions then, if not sooner, and provide additional guidance to the members.
What shall we do in this our dilemma? Pray! Pray for yourself, family and neighbors. Pray for your brothers and their family. Pray for our elected representatives and give them the wisdom to make the right decisions. Pray for God’s will to be done. Pray the Lord’s Prayer if you are searching for the words.
Extend your charity and hospitality in ways that will not expose you to this virus. Pick up the phone and call or email others. Ask if they need anything that you could get for them if you are venturing out. Take care of and check on those with immune deficiencies.
Please stay informed through reputable news and information sources. There is so much dis-information being spread, trust me… Facebook is not a reputable news source. Here are a couple of links you may want to consider:

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me or any brother. Remember, communication is a two-way street. Don’t wait to be called if you need something. Don’t think that you are a bother or an inconvenience. Each of us took the same obligation, as all of our brothers have done in the past, we are a society of friends and brothers.
Companions, our Grand Royal Arch Provost, RE Tom Varner, will be offering the on-line Leadership Correspondence Course in April. Please keep a check on the Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons website:
Remember Companions, think about ways to protect yourself. Wash your hands, use sanitizer, stay away from people, cover you nose and mouth to sneeze or cough. Take your temperature and call your physician if you have any medical questions or concerns. Cancel or postpone any non-essential trips.

We are a resilient people. We will pull through this. I look forward to seeing you again in the near future. Until then, may the God of peace and love delight to dwell with and bless you.
In His Name, I am
