Brethren,
As we continue our search for light, I think that we can now see some of it at the end of the tunnel that is COVID. Brothers, I can not tell you how glad I am that the restrictions have begun to be lifted so that we can meet once more. As I am sure that you have seen in other email messages from the Grand Master the requirements to re-open our Lodges, and so I will not restate those here. However, I will say that we have prepared the Lodge to those requirements so you can feel safe in your return.
There will be some temporary changes to our rituals and operations, but I know that we will return stronger than ever. I was disappointed for our candidates that the Grand Master has suspended any degree work in the Lodge at this time, however I am glad that the GLOVA is already planning for One Day Conferrals across the state. I can not stress the fact that our Lodge is strong. You have Officers that are committed to the success of our Lodge and our Fraternity. You have two candidates that are ready to begin their journeys within our Fraternity, and several more petitions for first reading within the near future. It is time that we return to the quarry, pick up our working tools and renew our efforts in the labors of making good men better.
I think that we can all agree that in light of the “new normal” and the turmoil which faces our nation, it is now more important than ever to have good men, and women, in places that they can make a difference. As I spoke of my Father at our February Stated Communication, I feel that it is important to be a good man, that is willing to do the right thing for the right reasons. I therefore put it to you, that it is within our obligation to be there for our fellow citizens and set the example of what it is to be a good man, even when faced with difficult circumstances.
It is up to you the be the Light in the dark.
God Bless,
Charles
