Washington’s lesson in leadership

George Washington, a revered Masonic figure, embodied diverse leadership qualities. His spontaneity and creativity, competitiveness, collaborative spirit, and technical expertise set a powerful example. By examining his leadership, Masons gain insights into self-improvement and nurturing strong, unified communities. Reflecting on Washington’s legacy reinforces the commitment to moral and responsible leadership.

Upcoming Dates

February schedule for Unity 146 includes stated communication, thermal shelter dinner, blue lodge ritual practice, and virtual meetings of Luray Commandery #19, Order of the Eastern Star 6, and RAC Hiram #45. Some events are canceled or to be decided. No official visits are scheduled.

Public Announcement

The Governor of Virginia has mandated a limit of 10 attendees for meetings. Blue Lodge Meetings can be cancelled unless essential business needs to be addressed, and no balloting is permitted until the restriction is removed.

Valentine’s Day

The post serves as a charming reminder for Valentine’s Day on February 14th. It includes a heartwarming anecdote about a couple’s tradition of visiting a restaurant twice a week. The quote attributed to Red Skelton adds a sentimental touch to the message.

Masonic Community Blood Program

60 units have been collected, which accounts for 40% of the total membership strength.

Thermal Shelter

Local organizations including Unity Lodge, On Cue, and the Virginia Beer Museum are collecting coats, sweat clothes, and socks for the less fortunate as the weather gets colder. Unity Lodge will also provide monthly meals for the Thermal Shelter, with the next meal scheduled for January 7th. Contact Bro. Will Bryan to assist.

Teddy Bear Fund

Unity Lodge No. 146 in Warren County aims to launch a Teddy Bear fund for First Responders. The fund will provide teddy bears to children in crisis, distributed by local law enforcement and firefighters. Donations can be made at the Lodge or by check. This initiative has seen success in neighboring Lodges.
