A strong partnership between the Front Royal Masons and the Warren County Sheriffs Office has resulted in three years of positive impact on local youth. The latest chapter of this collaboration was the 3rd Annual Youth Football Camp, held on June 10th, 2023, at the Warren County Health & Human Services Complex.

This free, coed camp welcomed children ages 11 to 17, providing them with an opportunity to learn valuable skills, build confidence, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment. The day was packed with action, featuring:
- Drills and skill lessons: Area coaches, including Skyline High School Coach Cris Wigington and Warren County High School Coaches Josh Breeden and Ben Werner, shared their expertise and helped campers hone their football skills.
- Professional guidance: Alicia Blanding, a professional football player from the DC Divas, served as an inspiring role model for the young athletes, offering firsthand insights and valuable tips.
- College and NFL player mentorship: Campers had the unique opportunity to learn from and interact with talented players from higher levels of the sport.
- Delicious lunch: So Mote It Beef BBQ generously provided hot dogs and burgers, with Will & Charles fueling the fun and keeping everyone energized throughout the day.

The camp’s success goes beyond the X’s and O’s of football. It’s about fostering a sense of community, promoting teamwork, and encouraging healthy habits. The presence of law enforcement officers alongside community leaders like the Masons creates a positive association with authority figures and reinforces the importance of good citizenship.

The enthusiasm of the campers and the dedication of the organizers were evident throughout the day. The 3rd Annual Youth Football Camp is a testament to the power of collaboration in making a positive impact on young lives. By teaming up, the Front Royal Masons and the Warren County Sheriffs Office have created a valuable program that is enriching the community and building a brighter future for its youth.

We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this impactful initiative and the young athletes who participate in it.
