Brethren, Let’s Serve Together at the New Warren County Senior Center!

Brothers,

As Thanksgiving approaches, let’s take this opportunity to show our gratitude by serving our community. On Tuesday, November 26th, we invite you to join us in providing a special meal for seniors at the new Warren County Senior Center, located at 465 West 15th Street in the Warren County Health & Human Services Complex.

Operated by Seniors First, the Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging, the Warren County Senior Center is dedicated to supporting older adults so they can continue living independently in their own homes. By volunteering, we’re not only offering a holiday meal, but also showing our support for the center’s mission to help seniors live with dignity and care.

We welcome all brethren to help make this day memorable for our local seniors. Here’s how you can get involved:

1. Prepare the Meal at the Lodge

Join us at the lodge in the morning to prepare smoked turkey and all the fixings. We’ll need hands for cooking, seasoning, and carving—and just your presence for camaraderie is always appreciated!

2. Serve at the Senior Center

If you prefer to go directly to the Senior Center, please arrive by 11:00 a.m. to help serve meals. The meal will include the Senior Center’s famous Mac & Cheese and a selection of desserts provided by the staff. Connecting with our seniors over a festive meal is a meaningful way to honor their contributions to our community.

For those who haven’t joined us before, the Senior Center is always full of lively, charismatic seniors, often enjoying live entertainment with talented singers and musicians playing acoustic guitars. It’s a warm, joyful atmosphere, and a perfect setting for us to give back to those who’ve given so much to our community. You may even spot a few familiar faces from our Last Saturday breakfast—seniors who look forward to our gatherings each month and would love to see us there.

3. Have a Seat, Share a Meal

After serving, take a moment to sit down, share a meal, and chat with the seniors. Many have stories they’d love to tell, or would simply enjoy having someone new to speak with. Your presence and conversation will bring even more warmth to their holiday.

4. Participate in Both!

If you have the time, you’re encouraged to lend a hand with both the preparation and the serving. Your support will add to the warmth of the day in every smile and every plate.

Let Us Know You’ll Be There

To help us plan accordingly, please reach out to the Worshipful Master to confirm whether you’ll be attending the preparation at the lodge, the serving at the Senior Center, or both. This will ensure we have enough support at each stage.

If transportation is an issue, please reach out to a fellow Brother for a ride. We’ll make sure everyone who wants to help is able to join us.

Let’s come together to make this Thanksgiving meal a special event for the Warren County seniors. With your help, we’ll show the strength and compassion of our Masonic brotherhood.

Looking forward to seeing you on the 26th!
