The brethren at Unity Lodge No. 146 had once again volunteered to cook burgers and hot dogs at the Warren Coalitions annual event, Celebrate Kids Day on the afternoon of September 28, 2025. This is the fourth year that the Lodge has stepped up to support this local non-profit that fills the gaps in healthcare and provides awareness of substance abuse in the community.
The event was well attended with over 539 children and their families participating or watching various activities in and around the Human Health & Services complex, including pony rides and a petting zoo.
A little helper tagged along as well marking cheese burger wrappers and learning how to support the community from his fathers lead. In all, there were six brothers that came and went throughout the day in addition to spouses and children. One of the brothers raised funds in the “Pitch Burst” activity in which children threw balls at a red target that would burst a balloon over his head when hit. $7,660 was raised in all by 13 organizations who raised funds for the Pitch Burst activity.
One of the members of OES attended the event as well and brought various flavors of brownies to serve to the public.
Next years Celebrate Kids Day event will be September 27, 2026.
