Camping For Hunger

As part of our ongoing commitment to charity and community service, Unity Lodge No. 146 once again participated in the annual C-CAP “Camping for Hunger” food drive—a long-standing local tradition supported by our community and broadcast throughout the week by our local radio station setup within a school bus. Today marked the final day of this year’s event, and our Lodge was proud to deliver a meaningful donation on behalf of our brothers.

Several members volunteered to chip in, and together we contributed approximately $160 in items carefully chosen to support both immediate needs and often-overlooked essentials.

Items Donated by the Lodge

Our donation focused on hygiene products and easy-to-transport food items—things that families and individuals often need but that don’t always make it into donation bins. The items included:

Food & Small Meal Items

  • Graham crackers
  • 2 boxes of granola bars
  • Log Cabin syrup
  • Single-serving Cereal of Raisin Bran, Froot Loops, and Frosted Mini-Wheats
  • Instant coffee

Hygiene & Personal Care Items

  • Male and female razor kits
  • 2 tubes of toothpaste (sensitive teeth)
  • 2 toothbrushes
  • Male and female shaving cream
  • Male and female deodorant
  • 4 feminine hygiene variety packs
  • 2 bottles of shampoo

When the donation was dropped off, the volunteers at the bus were especially grateful for the instant coffee, noting how helpful it is for recipients and how rarely they receive it.

A Tradition Rooted in Service

Unity Lodge No. 146 participates in this event every year, standing alongside many others in our community who share the same desire to help those facing hardship. This annual effort reflects our Masonic values of charity, relief, and brotherly love, lived out through sincere and practical action.

Continuing the Spirit of Giving

We extend our thanks to the brothers who contributed and to everyone involved in making the “Camping for Hunger” event a success. Small items, offered with compassion, can brighten someone’s day and help meet real needs during the colder months ahead.

Unity Lodge remains committed to supporting our community throughout the year. If you’d like to be part of future service efforts, please connect with us—we’d be honored to have you join in the work.

Next year’s event will be the week of November 16-21, 2026.
