    D. C. Masons Be Guests Of Cassia Lodge

    Sixty members of Naval Lodge No. 4 from Washington, D. C., will attend Cassia Lodge No. 142 A. F. and A. M. of Woodstock on June 9. The event will include the conferring the master’s degree and will be attended by notable Masons, making it the largest Masonic function in the Shenandoah Valley this year. Read more

    In May 1923, the Shenandoah Herald reported on the “Regular Meeting Cassia Lodge,” noting four brothers raised together and their cousins’ presence, with three from Unity Lodge. A total of 19 lodges were represented at the meeting, with 19 participants from Unity Lodge, including the District Deputy Grand Master. Read more

    Woodstock Methodist Church Corner Stone

    On August 25, 1905, the Shenandoah Herald reported the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Virginia laying the corner stone at Woodstock’s Methodist Church with Casia Lodge No. 142. Lodges from Winchester, Front Royal, Strasburg, Edinburg, and Mount Jackson attended the event. This historic event was well-documented in the local newspaper. Read more

    On August 4, 1905, the Shenandoah Herald published an article regarding the laying of a cornerstone at Methodist Episcopal Church South in Front Royal on August 3.
