Veterans Day Ceremony
Unity Lodge No. 146 will attend the Veterans Day ceremony at Middletown Veterans Memorial Park today at 1 p.m., moving to the Firehall if it rains. Attendees should wear suits and ties. A visit to Bill Wood’s grave at Prospect Hill Cemetery is planned for Saturday, departing from the Lodge. Read more

William Newton Wood (1924 – 2023)
William Newton Wood, 99, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on February 20, 2023, after 62 years of marriage to June Lee Wood. A WWII veteran and dedicated member of Masonic Unity Lodge #146, he is survived by three sons, six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. His funeral will be held on February 26, 2023. Read more

J. L. Carson Dies At Woodstock
Joseph Lougheed Carson, former treasurer of Riverton Lime Co., passed away at 74 in Woodstock. Known for his literary culture and Masonic expertise, he leaves behind his wife, four daughters, and a son serving in the Naval Air Service. Funeral services were held in Woodstock and Front Royal, where he was laid to rest. Read more

Walter C. Carter Killed, Auto Is Struck by Train
Walter C. Carter, a prominent orchardist and community leader, tragically died in a collision with a passenger train near Waterlick. He was well-respected for his diverse business involvements and active participation in church and civic activities.
