Great Gathering At Berryville
On May 1, 1924, a significant event took place at Berryville High School, where Unity Lodge No. 146 of Front Royal, along with other lodges, attended the Corner-Stone Laying hosted by Treadwell Lodge No. 213. The event featured the presence of two Grand Masters and included a parade, music, banquet, and participation from various organizations. Read more

Four Borden Brothers Raised
In May 1923, the Shenandoah Herald reported on the “Regular Meeting Cassia Lodge,” noting four brothers raised together and their cousins’ presence, with three from Unity Lodge. A total of 19 lodges were represented at the meeting, with 19 participants from Unity Lodge, including the District Deputy Grand Master. Read more

J. A. LeHew Dies In Washington Jan. 5
J. A. LeHew, a train master, passed away on January 5, 1920, due to high blood pressure and kidney trouble. He was well-regarded and had deep connections in Strasburg. Though efforts were made for his recovery, he did not survive. He was survived by family and honored by his Masonic brethren. Read more

Strasburg Methodist Church Corner-Stone
On September 15, 1905, the Shenandoah Herald reported the laying of a corner-stone at the new Methodist Church in Strasburg. Spurmont Lodge No. 98 led the event, with Unity Lodge No. 146 offering assistance along with other visiting lodges. Read more

Woodstock Methodist Church Corner Stone
On August 25, 1905, the Shenandoah Herald reported the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Virginia laying the corner stone at Woodstock’s Methodist Church with Casia Lodge No. 142. Lodges from Winchester, Front Royal, Strasburg, Edinburg, and Mount Jackson attended the event. This historic event was well-documented in the local newspaper. Read more

Laying of Corner Stone of M. E. Church, South, Front Royal, Va.
On August 4, 1905, the Shenandoah Herald published an article regarding the laying of a cornerstone at Methodist Episcopal Church South in Front Royal on August 3.
