J. L. Carson Dies At Woodstock
Joseph Lougheed Carson, former treasurer of Riverton Lime Co., passed away at 74 in Woodstock. Known for his literary culture and Masonic expertise, he leaves behind his wife, four daughters, and a son serving in the Naval Air Service. Funeral services were held in Woodstock and Front Royal, where he was laid to rest. Read more

Tribute to Carson
Unity Lodge 146, A. F. and A. M. of Front Royal will hold a special Masonic service at 2:00 this afternoon in memory of Joseph L. Carson. His funeral services will be at 2:15 in Woodstock with interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery. There will be no Masonic services at the grave. Read more

Masons Hold Meeting At Woodstock Saturday
Nearly 300 Masons from 50 lodges gathered in Woodstock, where J. H. Kelly of Kalamazoo, Michigan was conferred the degree of Master Mason by Naval Lodge of Washington. Prominent attendees included Otto B. Roepke, Grand Junior Warden of the District of Columbia, and C. Vernon Eddy, Grand Junior Warden of the Grand Lodge of Virginia. Read more

D. C. Masons Be Guests Of Cassia Lodge
Sixty members of Naval Lodge No. 4 from Washington, D. C., will attend Cassia Lodge No. 142 A. F. and A. M. of Woodstock on June 9. The event will include the conferring the master’s degree and will be attended by notable Masons, making it the largest Masonic function in the Shenandoah Valley this year. Read more
