The Royal Arch is a Masonic appendant body that forms a part of the York Rite of Freemasonry. It is also known as the Holy Royal Arch. The Royal Arch degrees are considered a continuation of the three symbolic degrees (Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft, and Master Mason) in Freemasonry.
The Royal Arch degree is seen by many Masons as the completion of the Master Mason degree and provides additional teachings and allegorical stories. The central theme revolves around the recovery of the lost name of God and the rebuilding of the Temple of Solomon.
High Priest R.E. Dennis M. Haas extends holiday greetings and invites companions to the Christmas Observance on December 7th. Quoting the Gospel of Matthew, he shares the Christmas Story and a prayer. The event includes a meal and a discussion on the duty of the Grand Master of the First Veil.
The Grand Lodge and other Masonic bodies in Virginia have cancelled events through April. Members are encouraged to pray, stay informed from trustworthy sources, and offer support while staying safe. The online Leadership Correspondence Course will still be offered. Everyone is urged to take necessary precautions and remain resilient during this time.
As we enter March, be mindful of the spread of Coronavirus. Stay informed, seek medical attention if needed. Support our local Project Lifesaver and Alzheimer’s fundraiser. Reflect on the Mark Master degree’s lessons of integrity and self-improvement. Attend our upcoming chapter meeting on March 20th to ensure our chapter’s vitality and growth.
The 15th District’s Capitular Masonry remains active and supportive, with official visits by Grand High Priests and plans for future events. Initiatives include supporting the Alzheimer’s Association and Project Lifesaver. Members can look forward to a “lock in” and bourbon tasting events, with proceeds going to charity. Masonic Week and other activities are also highlighted.
The convocation on December 20th includes a special program and a visit to MAHOVA’s Memory Unit on December 22nd. The Hiram Royal Arch Chapter No. 45 looks forward to an eventful year with monthly prepared meals to support charities, educational programs on Chapter degrees, and a focus on meaningful discussions. Members are encouraged to attend monthly meetings and support the chapter’s endeavors. Additionally, preparations are underway for the Grand Annual Convocation in Williamsburg.
The chapter had a busy July, hosting a leadership course and conferring Council Degrees. There are upcoming events such as the William B. Millican school, Royal Arch School, Bev Armel Royal Arch School of Instruction, and “Walk to End Alzheimer’s.” Also, the 208th Annual Grand Convocation is scheduled for November 12-14, 2015.
The chapter had a busy June, conferring degrees and beginning a leadership course. Upcoming events include degree conferrals, a school of instruction, and a convocation. Companions are encouraged to attend stated and called convocations, with assistance available for those needing a ride. The Grand Royal Arch Chapter 207th Grand Annual Convocation is in November.
May was successful for the chapter, hosting the Bev Armel Royal Arch School of Instruction and preparing candidates for degree conferrals in June. Companion Boger received a 50 year emblem. Reminders for June include attending the convocation on June 19th and participating in the District 15 Education program’s leadership course on the same day.
