Joseph and Mary journey to Bethlehem for a census. They are turned away from the inn, finding shelter in a stable where Mary gives birth to Jesus. Shepherds visit, having been told of the birth by angels. The narrator urges readers to make room in their hearts for the true meaning of Christmas.

In January, Unity Lodge has several events including ritual practices, a Master Mason Degree, and a breakfast. Other affiliated groups have their own meetings and activities, such as Eastern Star #6 and Shenandoah Valley DeMolay. Additionally, there will be a joint potluck dinner, and the Traveling Man will visit Treadwell #213 and Spurmont #98.
