Trestle Board Collection

Hello Brothers,

I’m currently in the process of making sure all of our trestle board newsletters are available on our website. In addition to the trestle boards that were available on our old site, I was able to procure more from a few resources such as the Internet Archives “Way Back Machine” when we first got our website in 2006. I also received Trestle Boards from RW Bro. Charles Taggart from his years as WM, and dug through my emails to get WM Will Bryan’s “This Week In Masonry” since May 15th, 2023.

I’ve recently added a search page to the website where you can search anything on the Lodge website, including most of our trestle boards content, or view content by year, category, or tag. My favorite category is the Masonic Humor. There is a tag cloud that shows you the 100 things that we tend to talk about the most. As an example, here are the current top 20 tags:

I must say that I’ve learned quite a bit about our lodges history, that I was able to update the page with a few more details. I also found a bit of enlightening articles, poems, American History, as well as some of the people who have received the Community Builder’s Award while reading through and tagging each trestle board. I’ve even learned the history behind some of the artifacts displayed within our lodge.

There is still plenty of work to do tagging the remaining trestle boards, but I’m finding that I am missing many of them. I’ve created a table below to show what I have found so far. I’ll keep updating it as I get more documents. If you can dig through old email attachments, old stacks of papers, or help in any way, I’d greatly appreciate it. My email is lewismoten@gmail.com

A few questions I have:

  • Was the Trestle Board originally mailed out before we had a website?
  • Were there years after 2006 when Trestle Board wasn’t published?
