S. M. Boyd, Jr., Passes Away At Front Royal
Stephen Miller Boyd Jr. passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 6. He was an active member of the community, serving as chairman of the Warren County Electoral Board, among other roles. Graduating from Virginia Tech in 1916, he was also a veteran of World War I and heavily involved in local organizations. Read more

W. T. W. Demitted
A member of Unity Lodge No. 146 switched to Orr Lodge No. 104, under the Grand Lodge of North Carolina. Brother W. T. W. was properly demitted by Washington Lodge No. 78, Virginia, and Unity Lodge No. 146, Virginia, and duly elected to Orr Lodge No. 104 on September 1, 1959. Read more

Zachry J. Compton, a river and rainfall observer in Riverton, VA since 1907, has served over 56 years in the telegraph department of the Norfolk and Western Railroad. Born in Taylor, MO in 1874, he gained essential skills at a telegraph office in his youth. He is a member of multiple Masonic lodges. Read more
